Shalane Flanagan in the 118th Boston Marathon
She PR’d by approximately 3 1/2 minutes - and made the womens race the thriller it became.
I saw in BAA’s twitter feed that she said she’d be back until she won it.
Today is Meb’s triumph but Shalane was a rockstar today too.
Hey! The great thing about runDisney races is that they are fantastic for all levels. I don’t know the details of your training but I’m a big fan of the Galloway method aka run/walk. It helps me stay consistent and not get tired throughout the course. I used it during the Wine and Dine half down there in November and crossed the finish line with a smile on my face.
If you’re in a later corral, I’d suggest not stopping for too many pictures, just so that you fall within the time limit that Disney has set but remember that the 16 minute mile begins when the very last person crosses the start line - so as long as you’re moving forward and progressing, you should be just fine! Enjoy the weekend - they really put on incredible races that are unlike any others.
